Johannesburg-based Don
Pilkington has printed 10 000 postcards, headed
"A call to Action." The pre-printed postcards, addressed to the
State President, the Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, and the
Minister of Mineral and Energy Affairs, appeal to the government to carefully
consider the implications of allowing major road-building and mining in a
sensitive ecological area with a fragile social structure.
Any member of the public can obtain a postcard, fill it in and post it back to Johannesburg. The postcards will then be audited and forwarded to the State President's office. We appeal to supporters of the 'Save the Wild Coast' Campaign to request packets of postcards from Mr Pilkington and have them filled in by members of your family, friends, school, sporting clubs, societies, etc.
Please contact Mr Pilkington, either by telephoning (084) 418 9189 or emailing him at inventww@global.co.za. Alternatively, send a stamped, addressed A5 envelope to: "Save the Wild Coast" Campaign PO Box 2423 Parklands 2121. Please make sure to specify how many postcards you require.
